The Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi have extended orders preventing the Prosecution from arresting four individuals allegedly connected to the controversial BBC documentary Blood Parliament in Kenya.
The suspects : Nicholas Wambugu, Brian Adagala, Mark Danver Karubiu, and Christopher Wamae appeared before Principal Magistrate Eric Otieno Wambo.
During today’s mention, the Prosecution requested an additional three weeks to finalize investigations into the matter.
Additionally, the court issued summons for Chief Inspector Nixon Kinyua and Mogaah Wekesa to appear on June 16, 2025. Their testimony is expected to clarify whether any investigations are actively ongoing against the suspects.
Last month, the same court granted each of the four accused individuals a cash bail of Sh10,000, securing their temporary release.
Their lawyer, Ian Mutiso, confirmed that the court had prohibited the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) from making further arrests or engaging in any form of harassment toward the four filmmakers, who have drawn significant public attention in recent days.
