The court heard that the four, jointly with others who have not been presented before court, allegedly stole Sh22,089,065 from Safaricom Pay Bill number 3039787, said to be the property of Bang Bet Company Limited. The alleged offence is said to have occurred between July 27 and August 4, 2026, at an unknown location within Kenya.

Xialolin Gu faces separate charges relating to the alleged acquisition of money believed to be proceeds of crime. The court was told that Gu allegedly acquired Sh916,595, said to be proceeds of crime from Bang Bet Company Limited. He faces another charge of allegedly acquiring a further Sh1,182,404, also said to be proceeds of crime.

Guodong Fu, on his part, was separately charged with allegedly acquiring Sh365,062, which the prosecution claims was proceeds of crime belonging to Bang Bet Company Limited. The accused persons denied the charges and were detained in police custody pending determination of their bail and bond applications.

The charges arise from an alleged financial loss involving funds held through a Safaricom Pay Bill account associated with Bang Bet Company Limited.

The case will proceed tomorrow for bail and bond application.
