Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Enock Okero has declared the Jubilee Party gender MCA nominee position vacant following court’s directive.
On Tuesday, Justice Wilfrida Okwany issued orders to the Speaker directing him to declare the seat vacant and swear in Michelle Omwoyo as the nominated MCA.
In the notice, Okero says he was declaring the seat vacant following court orders.
“I now hereby declare and notify the Members of the County Assembly and the general public a vacancy in the position of the Jubilee Party Representative in the Gender Top Up List for MCA of Nyamira,”
The speaker has also written to Omwoyo directing her to appear in the Assembly tomorrow morning for swearing in.
Omwoyo is replacing Dolphin Nyangara who lost the position in court.
