A digital communication company has sued East African Breweries PLC (EABL) and a marketing agency for allegedly failing to pay a contractual sum of KSh10 million for work done during the Furaha City Festival held on 7th December 2024.

In the suit filed before the High Court in Nairobi, Steizon Limited owned by Raburu through lawyer Danstan Omari claims it entered into a binding agreement with Game Changer Marketing Limited, which acted as an agent of EABL, to provide promotional, digital, and event-coordination services for the festival.

The plaintiff says the agreement covered influencer engagement, digital promotion, brand visibility, logistical execution, security collaboration, media coordination, and full event management, including producing over 60 reels, more than 100 static posts, and delivering a social media reach of over one million users.

Despite allegedly completing all obligations, Steizon claims the agreed KSh10 million has never been remitted. The company says that after the event, it was instructed to prepare a detailed event report to facilitate payment, which it submitted, only for the agency to allegedly refer it to another entity instead of settling the dues.

In his sworn statement, Willis Wayne Raburu, the director of Steizon Limited, says he personally handled extensive promotional and logistical work, including supervising teams, coordinating artists and influencers, overseeing media production, and ensuring smooth event execution. He adds that the failure to pay has strained the company financially.

Steizon now wants the court to declare the contract binding and to compel both the marketing agency and EABL to jointly pay the outstanding KSh10 million, along with damages for losses suffered and the tarnishing of the company’s reputation.
