Echesa who was arrested on Thursday last week is currently at Karen Hospital receiving treatment under police watch but they have been ordered to leave by the court.

This is after Echesa through lawyers Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta filed an application yesterday challenging his detention by police.

In her ruling, Justice Diana Kavedza allowed the application by Echesa and ordered him to pay Sh 2 M personal bond which is an undertaking and only an ID will be deposited in court.

Judge Kavedza has also directed Echesa to be escorted by his lawyers to the DCI when he is out of hospital to record statements not later than April 22.

The court has further directed the police that after investigations, they should notify Echesa where to appear for plea taking since his bail terms will only lapse once he is charged in court.
