City Lawyer Danstan Omari is set to represent over half a million residents of the disputed Kirima land who are at risk of being left homeless after last week’s court ruling.

In the ruling, the ELC court ordered the over 25,000 families to vacate the land within two months by December 31 before their properties are demolitions.

Speaking to Court Helicopter News,Omari said pretenders were in court claiming ownership of the land where his clients have been settled for the last 40 to 50 years.

“Over 500,000 people have now come to me after the real owner of the land Bernado Vicezo De Masi has come out and filed a case producing the original title deed,” Omari said.

He claims that in that original title, Kirima does not appear as having bought, leased, gifted or paid for that land. There is no sale agreement or stamp duty paid and so Kirima has no basis to claim that the land is his.

Interestingly,Omari claims that the matter was decided in a succession matter in the high court in 2011 and the children of the late Dominico De Masi were bequeathed the land, adding that in essence what was in Kisumu court was a charade.

“I shall be representing the residents of Njiru land who are likely to lose billions of shillings if their properties are demolished due to judgement issued by court,” he said.

Omari says Kirima’s are imposters who do not own the land and on Wednesday he shall be filing an application to be enjoined in the matter filed by Vicezo De Masi who is the real owner to support him for justice to be done.

“So long as I am Danstan Omari I will defend all the residents of Njiru as leaders like MP Babu Owino, MP Ronald Karauri and Senator Beatrice kwamboka are doing,” he said.
