A Nairobi man was on Monday charged at the Milimani Law court for allegedly threatening to kill nominated Senator Hezena Lematian on January 27,2026. “I did not threaten to kill the nominated Senator.I have no interest in Samburu County politics. I am concerned bout Kakamega county poilitics, where I come from,” Mr. Anyolo told the court. The suspect was arrested followimg reports by Ms Lematian through the Directorate of criminal investigations (DCI) at Muthaiga, Nairobi, last week. The court heard that Senator Lemaletian received a series of death threats through her whatsaapp social media platform while at her Bunge towers office. Following the threats the DCI was tasked with investigating the matter which led to the arrest of Mr Anyolo.

Detective Ndung’u presented the suspect in court and requested that Mr Anyolo be detained at Muthaiga Police Station for five days to enable cybercrime analyst to conduct forensic analysis on Safaricom Simcards, Airtel and other electronic devices recovered from him. “I do not reside in a vehicle the way the bird resides in a nest.I have a fixed place of abode,” Anyolo told the court. The Chief Magistrate Milimani Law Courts Lucas Onyina observed that the suspect had a fixed place of abode and the police could conduct forensic analysis without detaining Mr Anyolo. The court released Anyolo Kikuyu on a cashbail of Ksh 20,000.The matter will be mentioned in two weeks for further directions.
