Son of Late Simeon Nyachae Admits to Secretly Investigating Woman Claiming to Be His Father’s Widow

Nyandusi Nyachae, son of the late prominent politician Simeon Nyachae, has admitted in court that he covertly investigated Margaret Chweya, a woman who claims to be the widow of his late father. The revelation came during his testimony in an ongoing legal dispute over the estate of Simeon Nyachae.

While under cross-examination by Advocate Martina Swiga, Nyandusi disclosed that he initiated the investigation without informing Margaret. He explained that he first encountered her during his father’s funeral, where she was present at the graveside, a space reserved exclusively for family members and close friends.

Despite her presence in that intimate setting, Nyandusi insisted that Margaret was a complete stranger to him. When questioned whether her position at the grave could imply she was a member of the family or a close associate, he firmly denied that suggestion.

Advocate Swiga pressed Nyandusi further, asking whether he was aware of all of his father’s wives and girlfriends.

He responded that he was familiar with all his father’s wives but could not confirm whether his father had any girlfriends.

Margaret Chweya, for her part, has consistently claimed to be the widow of the late minister.

In her testimony, she told the court that she legally changed her name from Margaret Kerubo Chweya to Margaret Kerubo Nyachae eight months after Simeon Nyachae’s death in 2021.

With both sides having concluded their arguments, the case now awaits judgment from Family Court Judge Eric Ogola, who must resolve the contentious question of Margaret’s status and her claim to the disputed estate.
