Thousands of New Life Church members who had travelled for Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s mega crusade left stranded as police bar the preacher from overseeing the crusade.
Police in Kilifi have stopped Odero’s much hyped evangelical crusade that was to be held in Kilifi.
The crusade that had attracted thousands was to be held at the Kwa Kenga Wa Mupa farm in Basi junction along the Kilifi-Malindi Highway.
Kilifi North sub–County Police Commander Kenneth Maina has confirmed that they have indeed stopped the crusade because the pastor did not give enough prior notice.
Maina said they could not allow pastor Odero to hold the crusade within short notice saying he was to inform them within 72 hours of the crusade but he did not.
However, the police have said the pastor can hold his crusade next week since he has already informed them.
The grounds had already been set up with tents and chairs for the mega crusade but after the directive from police the team from New Life Church set down the venue and vehicles were seen transporting them back to the church.
